Samsung Wallet to Add USDC Transfers on Solana for 82 Million US Galaxy Devices

Samsung Electronics America said on October 7 that Samsung Wallet will add USDC stablecoin functionality for eligible U.S. Galaxy users in the last week of October 2026. The feature will support transfers to compatible crypto wallets and eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries.

The Solana Foundation separately said the rollout will enable USDC cross-border transfers on Solana across 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices. Access will be limited to users who meet Samsung's registration, identity and authentication requirements.

October rollout targets 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices

The announcement places a stablecoin-transfer function inside Samsung's Wallet app for eligible users in the United States, with the launch scheduled for the final week of October 2026. Samsung described the service as supporting both compatible crypto wallets and eligible bank accounts abroad.

Solana's announcement specifies that the USDC cross-border transfers will run on its network and puts the U.S. Galaxy device reach at 82 million. Neither announcement sets out a more specific launch date within the final week of October.

Bastion, Coinbase Prime, Solana and Sui roles

Samsung said USDC will be the first stablecoin supported under the arrangement. Bastion will provide stablecoin infrastructure, while Coinbase Prime will act as sub-custodian.

Solana and Sui will provide blockchain infrastructure support. The companies' assigned roles mean the Wallet feature relies on a group of providers rather than Samsung operating every part of the stablecoin and custody stack itself.

The Solana Foundation's announcement focuses specifically on USDC transfers over Solana, while Samsung's statement identifies both Solana and Sui as infrastructure-support providers.

Eligibility checks and transfer-fee terms

Users must complete account registration and identity verification, and use biometric authentication, before accessing the functionality. Samsung's description makes clear that the service is for eligible U.S. Galaxy users rather than all Wallet users by default.

Samsung said it will not charge fees for USDC transfers to external wallets. That does not necessarily make every transaction free: recipient providers may impose their own charges, according to the company.
