Binance launched trading in options tied to U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds on September 1, expanding its multi-asset platform for eligible users through a partnership with Alpaca. The rollout covers more than 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs, but is unavailable to users in the United States, according to Binance's announcement shared with The Block.
The launch adds conventional options exposure alongside Binance's existing equity-linked perpetual-futures offering. Alpaca separately confirmed the launch, describing it as an extension of the companies' partnership.
Alpaca handles the options lifecycle
The new contracts are physically settled. Alpaca will provide execution, clearing, settlement and custody for the options trades, The Block reported.
For the retail rollout, eligible customers can buy call and put options, with buyers’ losses limited to the premium paid. That risk boundary does not apply to every options strategy.
Unlike a contract settled solely through a cash payment, a physically settled contract delivers the underlying shares when exercised. The product is therefore distinct from perpetual futures, which have no expiry date and are designed differently from listed options.

Equity-linked perpetuals dominated August TradFi volume
Binance’s options launch follows a sharp increase in activity in its TradFi perpetual-futures products. According to The Block, Binance reported approximately $433.4 billion in volume during August 2026, about 15 times the $29.5 billion recorded in January, while equity-linked perpetuals accounted for roughly 79% of the August total, or $342.9 billion. The new stock and ETF options are physically settled and use a trade, clearing and custody structure through Alpaca.
Access remains restricted by user eligibility, including the exclusion of U.S. users from the options rollout.
